What is an A/V Strategy?

An A/V Strategy is..

a comprehensive roadmap that a business uses to Design, Build and Support it’s A/V technologies. These technologies enable communication and collaboration within the office, with hybrid or remote workers, and with clients and vendors.

There are 4 key components to an A/V Strategy:

1. Design – An effective A/V strategy must include uniform designs for your A/V spaces as well as the equipment that powers them. This leads to happier users that only have to learn one system, lower support costs due to common equipment and faster deployment of new A/V spaces.

2. Build – Larger organizations will often handle deployment of new A/V spaces in-house, but smaller companies will likely need help from A/V integrators. Both tactics require an efficient and well-managed implementation strategy.

3. Support – Your company needs well-trained staff and documented processes to keep your A/V investments running smoothly, and provide quick and effective solutions when problems do arise.

4. IT Integration (A/V over IT)Modern A/V systems rely extensively on Information Technology (IT) networks for streaming, control, and data management. It is critical that your company’s IT and A/V organizations work seamlessly together.

Each of these components plays a critical role in ensuring that your company’s A/V Strategy not only meets your current needs, but will adapt to both new technologies and your company’s growth.

How do I know if my company needs a better A/V Strategy?

Does your company…

  • use the same brands and models of conferencing equipment for all your conference rooms?
  • have a repeatable installation plan for new A/V conferencing spaces?
  • have a well-trained staff for supporting your conference rooms?
  • have a plan for deploying and managing hybrid workers?
  • have relationships with qualified and competent AV integrators and programmers?
